Munjya is the latest horror comedy released by Maddock Films, and it is a part of the ‘Stree Universe’ or what we lovingly call the Maddock Supernatural Universe. Other films of this universe include Roohi, Bhediya and the upcoming Stree 2.

Munjya Box Office Collection Day 12 Prediction
Munjya had a really good start at the box office making 4 crores on the very first day. It was seen that the night shows were more filled up than the morning shows. Week 1 brought in lots of love and earnings from audiences.
The total box office collection for week 1 was around 35.3 crores. Week 2 of Munjya has a stable collection, almost similar to Week 1. By Day 10, that is, by June 16 2024, Munjya had already crossed the 50 crores mark, something which many high-budget films haven’t done in June 2024.
Currently, it is Day 12 of Munjya’s screening, and the total box office collection as of Day 12 is 64.75 crores.

Munjya Movie Hit
Munjya has left an impact in the minds of the people, but it is mixed. When it comes to the story, it is quite fresh, and we get to see new faces like Abhay Verma, who plays the role of Bittu.
However, according to the critics and true fans of the Maddock Supernatural universe, when compared to the previous films, it somehow falters.
The VFX and CGI are probably the weakest part of the movie, as is the soul-switching in the climax. According to the critics it should have had either stronger horror or comedy elements to actually feel like a part of the universe.
Moreover, the way the director has tried to flimsily link this film to Bhediya, was not a good decision.

About Horror-Comedy Munjya Movie
Munjya is a horror comedy based on the lore of Munjya; that is, if a Brahmin boy dies within 10 days of his sacred thread ceremony, he turns into Munjya and desires to marry his first and unite with her in the afterlife.
The story starts off with Bittu, who wishes to be a hairstylist and lives with his mother and grandmother in Pune. He also has a childhood friend/crush named Bela, who runs Zumba classes. Bittu can’t confess his love to Bela as she is already engaged to Cuba, a foreigner.
One day,, Bittu and his family go to their home village to attend his cousin’s marriage, where Bittu and his uncle argue. Angrily, Bittu goes into the woods and accidentally frees Munjya, who was once his relative.
In the struggle, Bittu’s grandmother dies, and Bittu is tortured by Munjya to fulfil Munjya’s wish to marry his first love. Soon, Bittu finds out that Munjya’s first love was Bela’s grandmother! But now that Bela’s grandmother was old, Munjya decided to marry Bela, as Bela looked exactly like the younger version of her grandmother.
Now Bittu needs to save the love of his life as well as his entire family from the reckless and evil Munjya, along with his best friend Spielberg and exorcist Elvis Karim Prabhakar.
