Although the movie has lost much of its steam by the massive movie Kalki 2898 AD, Maharaja, ruled by Vijay Sethupathi, is still on a decent run. Analyzing the records, it can be presumed that the film earned approximately ₹0.38 crore net on its 20th day across all languages in India.

This takes its domestic collection to approximately ₹67. 37 crore net. It has not crossed the ₹100 crore mark yet, but it is likely to happen soon and it could be Sethupathi’s first film to achieve this.

Maharaja hit or flop

Maharaja lands somewhere between a hit and a flop. While it hasn’t achieved blockbuster status, it’s showing signs of success. With an estimated ₹67.37 crore net collection in India (as of July 3rd), it’s on track to be Vijay Sethupathi’s highest-grossing film ever and potentially the first to cross the ₹100 crore mark. It also did well in the US market for Tamil films. 

It had a very good opening while facing competition from Nandita Singh’s “Kalki 2898 AD. The total earnings reported for the film make it difficult to determine whether it made its money back, much less win back all the invested money, although the exact numbers are not known.
