The BAU is faced with a new challenge: The “Gold Star” murderers – Damien and Jade who appear to be part of something bigger. In an unforeseen twist, the team has to involve serial killer Elias Voit in order to reach Damien.
Rossi is often targeted by Voit, who loves mocking members of the BAU and this brings divisions within the group. Garcia feels uncomfortable being near Voit due to his creepy presence. The team relies on the knowledge that Voit possesses about Damien’s actions.
They learn that he had been abused in Stuart House (a youth facility) before being groomed by a private military contractor, which turned him into a dangerous person with a twisted perspective of life.
By manipulating things, the BAU persuades Damien to meet them so as to prevent more murders from happening again. This episode ends on a cliffhanger when Damien agrees to meet but loses signal before revealing where he is.
