Episode 5 of Below Deck Mediterranean Season 9 shows us a ‘love competition’ between Bri and Elena, who are trying to woo deckhand Joe.
Elena has some standards and feels that if Joe wants her, then he has to treat her like a lady and take her out for dinner, but Bri, on the other hand, is handsy and really wants to get with Joe that night, so she wears a bikini and kept flirting and signaling to Joe.
Meanwhile, Ayesha bets that they will be involved before she is in her pajamas, ready for bed. When everybody is gone, Joe and Bri make out, and before things escalate, Bri puts a stop to it and they decide to call it a night.
Meanwhile, we see a love triangle between Gael, her long-distance, clingy, and immature boyfriend, and supportive Nathan. Gael’s boyfriend’s actions are pushing her away from him and making her realize that Nathan is a better partner than her current boyfriend.
Ellie is upset because she too had a thing for Joe but when Bri confides in her and gives her only half of the details of her night with Joe, Ellie feels as if Bri crossed the line and has ruined their friendship.
Meanwhile, Joe doesn’t care for any of the girls; he feels he can get with any of them, be it Ellie, Bri or Elena. However, Bri, becomes this episode’s main villain as she gets too close to Joe.
