Charlize Theron is missing, and there is no Mad Max. It feels like it belongs to the same universe; however, it is a completely different story trying to connect with the Mad Max franchise.
The movie felt chaotic and disorganized to many, with character development quite poor. Many fans thought this film was just a cash grab. On the bright side, the action is quite good, the story is a bit darker, and there was more logic than expected.
Overall, if you are a Mad Max fan, you might either be absolutely disappointed with this film or feel like this movie naturally belongs in the franchise.

About Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is set in an apocalyptic world where Furiosa is kidnapped by a psychotic biker gang from her home, the Green Place of Many Mothers. Furiosa, being a young girl separated from her mother, does everything to go back to her family, but the biker gang’s leader, Dementus, has other plans. When Furiosa’s mother tries to save her, the bloodthirsty Dementus kills her mother right in front of her eyes.
Poor traumatized Furiosa has to rely on Demntus as a twisted student-mentor relationship forms between them. Soon Demntus and his gang arrive at the Citadel, ruled over by Immortan Joe. Dementus and Immortan Joe fight a war to death, all done in the name of dominance and ego.
Furiosa takes this opportunity to escape from the clutches of Dementus. Will she be successful? This movie highlights many aspects of human cruelty, as well as love and sacrifice.
