After Stree, Roohi, and Bhediya, Munjya is yet another scary piece from Maddock Film’s horror-comedy universe. Though Munjya doesn’t directly link to the previous films, it does show a post-credit scene, which somehow connects it to the Bhediya movie.
If you have seen the trailer for this film, you may know that a lot of new faces are to be seen in this film, like Abhay Verma (previously seen on Netflix shows like Little Things and a Family Man), some familiar faces like Sharvari Wagh, who is back on screen after Vedaa (2024), and many more. Directed by Aditya Sarpotdar, a director who has made only Marathi movies until now, Munjya surely has a lot to offer.
To know what it has to offer, you have got to read this article about its box office collection, budget, whether it is a hit or a flop, the reviews, and the story. So keep reading!

Munjya Movie Budget
Munjya is said to be made on a budget of 30 crores, which is quite decent and includes all costs from production to promotion. Munjya hardly had any proper promotions; most of the money has been spent on the visuals and CGI. Munjya is said to earn a profit by the end of next week.
Munjya Movie Hit or Flop
As of now, it cannot be determined whether Munjya is a hit or a flop, but one thing is for sure: this movie is performing quite well at the box office. This movie has received quite positive reviews on the internet from both critics and regular audiences.
The visuals take the cake for many. If Munjya’s popularity keeps rising the way it is, by the end of its first week, it might compete with Shaitaan, the recently released successful horror film.
#Munjya is exactly what you'd expect from the Stree Universe. Not exceptional, but a decent, fun watch. It follows the same template as that universe and works well once again. The VFX should be appreciated, and the character design of Munjya is fantastic 🔥. This universe is a… pic.twitter.com/oe5PPMbZRJ

Munjya Movie Reviews
Munjya has some clear ups and downs that audiences have noticed and noted. The approach and the idea of this film are quite fresh. Mona Singh Pammi shines as a mother. Abhay Verma as Bittu is compelling and does justice to his character. The character development is good, and the visuals are simply amazing.
Now coming to the negative points: most people hated the CGI and didn’t like the voiceover for Munjya. The story lacked depth and felt quite flat. The ending wasn’t very pleasing, and the climax was really not it. It had more comedic elements than horror.

About Munjya Movie
Munjya is based on the old folklore of Munjya, or Brahmrakshas. It starts in Pune with Bittu, a college-going, shy boy who lives with his mother and grandmother and has a major crush on his childhood friend Bela.
One day, Bittu and his family visit their family village for a cousin’s wedding, but it ends up being a disaster as Bittu has freed his ancestor’s vengeful creature, whose only wish was to marry his one-sided love, who turns out to be Bela’s grandmother! Now the Munjya is after Bela, who is a spitting image of her grandmother’s younger self. Now it is up to Bittu to save his love and his family from Munjya.
